W;T
Catch W;T during its limited run at Noosa Arts Theatre from December 5 – 8. Performing for five shows only, hurry and book your tickets before they sell out.
W;T tells the story of Vivian Bearing, a professor of literature who is an expert on the Holy Sonnets of John Donne. Vivian faces the biggest challenge of her life when she is diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Determined to fight cancer, she signs up to undergo an experimental treatment that will provide excellent research for the future of oncology even if there are no guarantees that Vivian would heal.
Vivian is used to being the teacher who is fully in control. But now she is the student. She learns more than she bargained for. She is faced with emotions she has only read about and analyzed in the safety of books – about sickness and regret, about human kindness and medical progress, and more importantly, about death. Donne’s work, “Death, be not proud,” becomes a reality she needs to face.
The play is equal parts funny and emotional. Its universal themes about life, death and purpose ring true. Faced with the formidable reality of death, one can only be armed with poetry, compassion and hope.

Alison Chambers steps into the role of Vivian Bearing. The Sydney-based actor has shone in recent productions in Sydney, "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woof?", "The Chapel Perilous", "The Telescope" and "Steel Magnolias".
Ian Mackellar will play the role of Dr. Kelekian and Vivian’s father. Stage and television actor Joanna Moore Smith plays the role of Vivian’s mentor Professor Ashford.
